Kennedy has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the Swett Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
Kennedy suffered their biggest defeat since November 28, 2023 on Monday. They were dealt a 69-29 loss at the hands of Bethel. Kennedy has not had much luck with Bethel recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Despite the loss, Kennedy saw an underclassman step up: Marvin Singleton scored 13 points.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Swett, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 53-39 loss to Albany on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Swett can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1000th, while Albany is ranked 323rd).
Kennedy's defeat dropped their record down to 6-15. As for Swett, their loss dropped their record down to 7-15.
Kennedy didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Swett in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, but they still walked away with a 60-54 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Kennedy since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
