Cherry Creek has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Columbine Rebels at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cherry Creek has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Last Saturday, Cherry Creek strolled past Hardin-Jefferson with points to spare, taking the game 62-43. Given Cherry Creek's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked fifth in Colorado, while Hardin-Jefferson is ranked 288th in Texas), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Tianna Chambers, who scored 22 points along with 6 assists. That makes it two consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Cherry Creek's points. A'neya Chambers was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with 7 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Columbine beat Liberty 57-46 on Saturday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Columbine.
Cherry Creek's win bumped their season record to 3-1 while Hardin-Jefferson's loss dropped theirs to 7-7.
Everything went Cherry Creek's way against Columbine in their previous meeting back in December of 2022 as Cherry Creek made off with a 57-35 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Cherry Creek since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
