Baseball Recap: Dallas Wins Going Away Against Western Wayne

Dallas's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. Everything went their way against the Western Wayne Wildcats as they made off with a 21-7 victory. That 14 run margin sets a new team best for the Mountaineers this season.

Dallas got a massive performance out of Dominick Zangardi, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. That's the most stolen bases Zangardi has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Brady Youngblood, who fired off two home runs and four RBI while going 2-for-5.

Dallas always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .628. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The win got Dallas back to even at 4-4. As for Western Wayne, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-8.

Coming up, Dallas will face off against Greater Nanticoke Area at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. The Trojans have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed nine runs per game on average), something the Mountaineers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Western Wayne, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 6-3 victory against Wyoming Area on the 19th.
