The Hampton Christian Academy Warriors put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They breezed by Summit Christian Academy at home to the tune of 74-28. Hampton Christian Academy might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won four games by 32 points or more this season.
Mikaela Lee was her usual excellent self, dropping a triple-double on 36 points, 13 rebounds, and ten steals. That makes it five consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Hampton Christian Academy's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lexie Dennis, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.
Summit Christian Academy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Ava Christophel, who scored eight points along with five rebounds. Jirah Comeaux was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with seven rebounds.
Even though they lost, Summit Christian Academy were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Hampton Christian Academy pushed their record up to 5-0 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.5 points per game. As for Summit Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.
Hampton Christian Academy won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Broadwater Academy at 5:30 p.m. on December 8th. Broadwater Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings (they are ranked 194th, while Hampton Christian Academy is ranked 21st). As for Summit Christian Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Peninsula Catholic at 5:30 p.m. Hopefully Peninsula Catholic focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 38 on Friday.
