After a string of three wins, the Calvary Saints's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a 76-71 hit to the loss column at the hands of Danville. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (70), Calvary still had to take the loss.
When it comes to explaining why Calvary lost, one person who can't be blamed is Luke Blackford. Despite the final result, he scored 36 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Blackford hasn't dropped below 15 points for six straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Connor Brown, who scored 12 points along with nine rebounds and six steals.
Calvary's loss dropped their record down to 17-7. As for Danville, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-14 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Calvary will take on Springfield at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Danville, they will head out on the road to challenge Normal Community at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
