Pacific Ridge took a loss when they played away from home last Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over Classical Academy. The victory continues a trend for the Firebirds in their matchups with the Caimans: they've now won five in a row.
Pacific Ridge had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 17-25, 25-17, 25-19, 25-22.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Pacific Ridge to victory, but perhaps none more so than Avalon Lowery, who had 17 digs and two aces. Lowery has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more digs the last three times she's played. Calista Lowery was another key player, getting six digs and three aces.
Meanwhile, Maranatha Christian unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-match winning streak on Tuesday. They lost 3-0 to Francis Parker.
The final score came out to 25-18, 25-15, 25-14.
Maranatha Christian's loss dropped their record down to 9-13. As for Pacific Ridge, the win got them back to even at 10-10.
Everything went Pacific Ridge's way against Maranatha Christian in their previous matchup back in September, as Pacific Ridge made off with a 3-0 victory. Will the Firebirds repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
