Sadly, Boomer Hester posting his best game of the season wasn't enough to lead Charlestown over Corydon Central on Friday. Hester rushed for 288 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 8.5 yards per carry, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. He was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 60 yards.
Hester and Charlestown will take on Salem at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The contest will pit Hester up against the Lions' star quarterback Adam Mull. So who wins this QB-duel? There's only one way to know for sure.

Landon Shuck Delivers Electric Effort Vs Mitchell
Landon Shuck's big game helped extend Scottsburg's winning streak to five on Friday. Mitchell had no answer to Shuck as he rushed for 235 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 13.8 yards per carry, and also picked up 40 receiving yards. Shuck showed off some serious burst, cutting through the defense on one rush that went for 60 yards.
Mitchell's probably not too fond of Shuck given he always seems to get the better of them. Back in September of 2023 (the last time Shuck saw the Bluejackets), he rushed for 146 yards and three touchdowns on only 14 carries, and also caught a touchdown.

Carson Lawyer continued his hot streak on Friday by dropping his fifth-straight game (dating back to last season) with at least 150 rushing yards. He rushed for 163 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.6 yards per carry. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 71-yard run.
The win (which was Corydon Central's third in a row) raised their record to 3-4. Lawyer and Corydon Central will head out to take on Providence at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Another Corydon Central player making an appearance on this list is Waylon Doblado. He made seven total tackles (1.0 for loss) and defended a pass.
