After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Niceville, the Chiles Timberwolves were happy to have found some success on Saturday. They managed a 48-43 victory over FAMU DRS. The score was all tied up 24-24 at the break, but Chiles was the better team in the second half.
Chiles' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Faith Durden, who scored 17 points along with three steals. That makes it five consecutive games in which Durden has scored at least a third of Chiles' points. Macey Hartman was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with three steals and three blocks.
Despite the loss, FAMU DRS saw an underclassman step up: Queenn Love scored 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kennedy Middleton, who scored six points along with nine rebounds.
FAMU DRS struggled to work together and finished the game with only an assist. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Chiles posted ten assists.
Chiles is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-9 record this season. As for FAMU DRS, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-11.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Rickards the next time they take the court. Chiles will host Rickards at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while FAMU DRS will head out to face them at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
