It was a good run, but the Kansas School for the Deaf Jackrabbits unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Sunday. They were beaten by Marie Philip 61-28. The contest was up for grabs at halftime, but sadly Kansas School for the Deaf struggled afterwards.
Leading Marie Philip to victory were Xavier DeLeon and Jeremy Novas. DeLeon scored 22 points along with eight steals, while Novas dropped a double-double on 28 points and 11 rebounds. DeLeon is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season.
Kansas School for the Deaf's loss dropped their record down to 6-2. As for Marie Philip, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 14-1.
Kansas School for the Deaf will head out on the road to face off against Ozanam at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Marie Philip, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Waring at 5:30 p.m.
