The Merritt Island Christian Cougars lost to the Morningside Academy Eagles back in February of 2023, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. Merritt Island Christian skirted past Morningside Academy 43-41.
Merritt Island Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Trey Nevad led the charge by dropping a double-double on ten points and 14 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Connor Angstadt, who scored 15 points.
Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was James Bolton, who scored 15 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Bolton has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Elijah Bell, who scored 11 points.
