Meanwhile, Jupiter Christian owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out Atlantic Christian 2-0. The win continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Sharks: they've now won nine in a row.
Like Highlands Christian, Jupiter Christian also got a great game from a two-way player: Jaden Kostura. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. Kostura has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. Highlands Christian's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-3. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Jupiter Christian, their record now sits at 12-8.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Highlands Christian has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 8.1 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Jupiter Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 4.3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Highlands Christian suffered a grim 16-1 defeat to Jupiter Christian when the teams last played back in March. Can the Knights avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
