Big Sky is a perfect 10-0 against Hellgate since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Eagles will face off against the Knights at 12:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Big Sky has six straight wins, Hellgate has 14 straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Big Sky is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Montana's top teams: Butte, who was ranked 22nd at the time (Big Sky was ranked sixth). The Eagles were the clear victors by a 13-3 margin over the Bulldogs on Tuesday. Considering the Eagles have won six games by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Sara Bjornson was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 11 over six innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.

In other batting news, Hailey Nicoson and Elise Regan did most of the damage at the plate: Nicoson went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and one double, while Regan went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those three runs gave Regan a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Madison Norcorss, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
Big Sky lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Butte didn't launched any.
Meanwhile, Hellgate lost 11-3 to Butte on Monday.
Hellgate saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaelynn Hopfauf, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI. Nat Blaney also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Hellgate's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Big Sky, their record now sits at 7-3.
Hellgate's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Big Sky has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 11.6 hits per game. It's a different story for Hellgate, though, as they've been averaging 9.3 hits. Given Big Sky's sizable advantage in that area, the Knights will need to find a way to close that gap.
Big Sky got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in May of 2025 against Hellgate by a conclusive 13-2 score. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Knights turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
