The Robertson clan might be experts at building duck calls and duck hunting. Apparently the "Duck Dynasty" stars are also pretty good at high school sports.
In the fall, we saw Ouachita Christian senior
Reed Robertson suit up on the gridiron. Now, cousin
Sadie Robertson is making a name for herself on the hardwood.
The 5-foot-6 sophomore, whose father Willie and mother Korie star on the hit A&E show "Duck Dynasty," is a starting sophomore guard for
Ouachita Christian (Monroe, La.). Sadie has been on the varsity squad since her eighth-grade season and has been enrolled at the school since pre-kindergarten.
Ouachita Christian head coach Jeremy Shackelford is Sadie's great uncle, and also coached Sadie's mom, Korie.
"Sadie got her skills from Willie," Korie Robertson told MaxPreps recently. "I played but I was not as athletic as Sadie is."
Last month,
Sadie nailed a game-winning shot to help Ouachita Christian prevail over Epps, 53-52.
MaxPreps photographer Roddy Johnson was on hand for the
Lady Eagles' 57-36 win over Harrisonburg at the 2014 Duck Commander Classic tournament last week. Check out Sadie and her teammates in the following slideshow.
