After a string of five wins, the Beaver Bobcats's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They fell just short of Trinity by a score of 74-72. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (69), Beaver still had to take the loss.
When it comes to explaining why Beaver lost, one person who can't be blamed is Brady Mayo. Despite the final result, he scored 35 points along with seven rebounds and two blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Mayo has scored all season. Ty Butler was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with seven rebounds.
Beaver's loss dropped their record down to 12-10. As for Trinity, the win got them back to even at 2-2.
Beaver won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Trinity at 7:30 p.m. on February 13th. Hopefully Beaver focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Monday.
