Rangeview and Regis Jesuit are an even 3-3 against one another since January of 2015, but not for long. Rangeview will challenge Regis Jesuit on Saturday. Rangeview will be coming into the contest with an undefeated record on the line.
Rangeview is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 77-47 victory over George Washington. The Raiders have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 15 matches by 20 points or more this season.
Rangeview got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kenny Black-Knox out in front who shot 67% from the field en route to 23 points along with six boards and three steals. That's the most points Black-Knox has posted since back in January of 2024. Archie Weatherspoon V was another key player, going 6-for-10 to rack up 17 points and three steals.
Meanwhile, Regis Jesuit faced Grandview in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. Regis Jesuit skirted past Grandview 59-56. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Raiders have posted since December 7, 2024.
Rangeview better focus on containing Eric Fiedler and Lucas Dickinson as the pair were huge in Regis Jesuit's win. Fiedler shot 54% from the field on his way to 27 points and six rebounds, while Dickinson dropped a double-double with 18 points and ten boards. With that strong performance, Dickinson is now averaging an impressive 8 rebounds per game. Another player making a difference was Mason Marshall, who put up four points.
Rangeview pushed their record up to 25-0 with the win, which was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Regis Jesuit, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 19-6.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Rangeview has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 32.3 boards per game. However, it's not like Regis Jesuit struggles in that department as they've been averaging 31.3 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Rangeview came up short against Regis Jesuit when the teams last played back in January of 2024, falling 60-48. Can Rangeview avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
