This season hasn't been kind to The Leetonia Bears, who are still winless after their tenth match. They were outmatched by Southern on the road and fell 47-0. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Leetonia in their matchups with Southern: they've now lost three in a row.
Carson Brock threw for 163 yards on 12 of 24 attempts. Hayden Cibula was his top target, picking up 113 receiving yards. On the ground, Tatum Finley gained 109 total yards.
Leetonia's defeat was their tenth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 0-10. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 7.2 points per game. As for Southern, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 8-2.
Leetonia does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Southern will head out on the road to face off against Malvern at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Malvern is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
