The University School of Jackson Bruins entered their tilt with the Sacred Heart of Jesus Knights with eight consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with nine. University School of Jackson walked away with a 78-69 victory over the Knights on Friday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
It was another big night for Mills Terry, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 16 rebounds. He hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Smith, who scored 17 points along with three steals.
Several Knights players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was A J Morman, who scored 26 points along with six assists and six rebounds. Morman hasn't dropped below 20 points for seven straight games. Andre Bell was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
University School of Jackson has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 14 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 21-4 record this season. As for Sacred Heart of Jesus, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-11.
University School of Jackson will be playing in front of their home fans against the Lions at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Trinity Christian Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past nine matchups -- so hopefully the Bruins like a good challenge. As for Sacred Heart of Jesus, they will head out on the road to square off against the Rebels at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Tipton-Rosemark Academy is coming into the game on a six-game losing streak.
