The Fort Stockton Panthers had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Buena Vista as Fort Stockton made off with a 45-22 win. This was payback for Fort Stockton, who suffered a 59-45 loss the last time these two teams met.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Fort Stockton to victory, but perhaps none more so than Amaya Urias, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 19 rebounds. Urias has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Sophia Hernandez, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds.
Fort Stockton has yet to lose a game at home this season, leaving them with a 5-2 record. As for Buena Vista, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.
Fort Stockton will face off against Balmorhea at 12:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Buena Vista, they will be playing at home against Sands at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
