The South Jefferson Spartans will look to defend their home court on Saturday against the Massena Raiders at 12:30 p.m.
Last Saturday, things could have been worse for South Jefferson, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 57-39 loss to Institute of Tech. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points South Jefferson has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Massena waltzed into their game on Thursday with two straight wins but they left with three. They came out on top against Potsdam by a score of 59-52.
Massena relied on the efforts of Colin Patterson, who scored 18 points, and Taylor Mitchell, who scored 23 points. Mitchell has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last three times he's played. Chris Boyea was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
South Jefferson now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Massena, their win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-3.
