The Columbine Rebels can finally bid farewell to their 15-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They secured a 64-58 W over Chatfield. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Columbine has managed all season.
Columbine found their leader in underclassman Cash Boykin, who scored 21 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Boykin hasn't dropped below 15points for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Matthew Kossik, who scored 13 points along with three steals.
Columbine's win ended a seven-game drought at home and bumped them up to 1-13. As for Chatfield, they bumped their record down to 2-12 with that loss, which was their fifth straight on the road.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Columbine will take on Grandview at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Grandview presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Columbine in Colorado (Grandview is ranked 102nd, while Columbine is ranked 244th). As for Chatfield, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Bear Creek at 7:30 p.m. Bear Creek and Chatfield are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
