The biggest upset of the week belonged to Seton Hall Prep, who took down 44th ranked East Orange Campus, 40-30. Andrew Harmon ran for 108 yards in the win.
The Pirates moved up to 46 from 137 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Super Essex - American. A 40-30 win over the Jaguars helped Seton Hall Prep improve its standing.
Nate Crutchfield and Michael Million gave Montclair a balanced attack through the air and ground last week. Crutchfield threw for 194 yards and four touchdowns, while Million ran for 110 yards. Gerard Brown also contributed to the rushing game with 60 yards on the ground.
Shamier Moon was the best wideout in the league this week as East Orange Campus lost to John Finnegan's team. Moon tallied nine receptions for 128 yards. James Thomas helped East Orange Campus' passing attack out by catching three balls for 78 yards.
The Pirates' Peter Burkly and Clay Austin have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Burkly has thrown for 420 yards this season, while Austin, a 5-foot-11 receiver, has 10 catches for 220 yards. Million from the Mounties leads the league in rushing with 583 yards.
A big matchup in Super Essex - American this week will be when Bloomfield takes on Columbia. The Bengals are currently in fourth, while the Cougars are in third.
Columbia was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from sixth to third in the league. Earlier in the week, Dave Curtin's team triumphed over Livingston 22-8.
