Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Havana). Everything went their way against the Bushnell-Prairie City Spartans on Monday as they made off with a 22-0 win. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.
Caleb McDaniel made a splash no matter where he played. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. McDaniel was even better at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Those two runs gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Havana got a massive performance out of Bradyn Willing, who scored five runs and stole three bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. The Ducks are 2-1 when Willing posts two or more runs, but 2-6 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Carter Brooks, who went 2-for-4 with two triples, three RBI, and two runs.
Havana always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .690. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Havana's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-7. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games.
