The Pikesville Panthers will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Carver A&T Wildcats at 5:30 p.m. Pikesville will be looking to keep their 14-game home win streak alive.
Pikesville stacked an eighth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Wednesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Patapsco 79-33 on the road. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 43-18.
Pikesville's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Mariah Jones-Bey led the charge by dropping a double-double on 11 points and 11 assists. Bree Taylor was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with three steals.
Carver A&T posted their closest victory yet this season on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged Perry Hall out 42-40.
Laila Brandon was the offensive standout of the contest as she scored eight points along with 11 rebounds and six steals. Another player making a difference was Elisah Guity, who scored 15 points along with two steals.
Pikesville's win bumped their record up to 11-2. As for Carver A&T, their victory bumped their record up to 6-4.
Everything came up roses for Pikesville against Carver A&T when the teams last played back in January of 2023 as the squad secured a 65-22 win. With Pikesville ahead 37-7 at the half, the game was all but over already.
