North Pointe Prep were fully in charge on Friday, breezing past Tempe Prep 72-22. North Pointe Prep was expected to win, but the margin was definitely larger than the state rankings had forecast.
North Pointe Prep's offense came in ready to rumble, picking up 48 points in the first half. Tempe Prep came up with 16 to make it 48-16 heading into the break. The other side of the ball was dominant for North Pointe Prep in the second half, holding Tempe Prep to a measly 6 points.
Senior Nijel Rosado, who rushed for 295 yards and 4 touchdowns, was a major factor in the success. Senior Joe Soriano-Garfias was in the mix, too, providing North Pointe Prep with 2 touchdowns. The win bumped their record up to 2-0. The loss dropped Tempe Prep's record to 1-2.
North Pointe Prep are packing up and heading on the road for the first time this season. They face off against Trivium Prep next week at 7:00 PM. As for Tempe Prep, they will face off against Heritage Academy. Neither team wants a repeat from their last game since each was dealt a considerable defeat.
