St. Francis has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge the Alisal Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
On Wednesday, St. Francis came up short against Watsonville and fell 60-50.
Despite their defeat, St. Francis saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Joseph Rose, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and four blocks, was perhaps the best of all. Sam Braun was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, after a string of seven wins, Alisal's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They fell 79-71 to Pacific Grove. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game on Monday (68), Alisal still had to take the loss.
St. Francis dropped their record down to 2-16 with that loss, which was their sixth straight at home. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.5 points per game. As for Alisal, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-4.
St. Francis suffered a grim 63-39 defeat to Alisal in their previous matchup on January 4th. Can St. Francis avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
