4A Region III District 19 recap Oct. 9, 2012
Dayton extended the longest winning streak in 4A Region III District 19 this week by beating Kingwood Park, 35-13. The win marks sixth in a row for the the Broncos.
King moved up to 549 from 585 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Panthers climbed the ranks as a result of a 34-9 win over the Panthers.
The Panthers' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Jaylon Henderson threw for 40 and 13 touchdowns and Jordan Feurbacher had 24 yards receiving. On the ground Jhalen Demming chipped in 149 yards. Caleb Mattson helped Kingwood Park's passing attack out by catching one ball for 11 yards.
6-foot-1 quarterback Devlin Isadore of Porter is the league leader in passing yards this season with 989. He has also thrown five touchdowns. On the ground, Crosby's Austin Walters has rushed for 791 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Justin Walter. The Crosby star has 19 catches for 317 yards.
A big matchup in 4A Region III District 19 this week will be when Kingwood Park takes on Summer Creek. As it stands, Jim Holley's team is in fourth, while the Bulldogs are in first.
