McCreary Central saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kolton Summers, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Summers has become a key player for the Raiders: the team is 8-2 when he posts at least two runs, but 5-12 otherwise. Tristen West was another, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
As for Clinton County, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 16-14. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won 11 contests by six runs or more so far this season.
On Clinton County's side, Tucker Casada made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit over four innings pitched. Casada has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, Caleb Thrasher was incredible, going 2-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Matt Duvall, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.
Coming up, McCreary Central will face off against Barbourville at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.85 runs per game on average), something the Raiders will no doubt try to take advantage of. Clinton County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
