Baseball Recap: Havana Comes Up Short

Havana was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 14-12 heartbreaker at the hands of the Pittsfield Saukees. One positive for the Ducks, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Havana saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jack Turner, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. Turner also put up an RBI, which was his first of the season. Another was Kaden Olson, who scored two runs and stole two bases.

Havana's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Pittsfield, they pushed their record up to 4-0 with the win, which was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Havana will head out to face off against PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pittsfield, they will venture away from home to square off against Carrollton at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
