Aniah Smith continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Avon, scoring 39 points along with 9 rebounds and 8 steals. That makes it five consecutive games in which Smith has scored at least 25% of Avon's points. Mya Thompson was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with 6 rebounds.
Plainfield has yet to win a match at home this season, leaving them with a 7-1 record. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.0 points per game. As for Avon, their victory bumped their record up to 2-4.
Plainfield will be playing at home against Whiteland at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Whiteland will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings (they are ranked 167th, while Plainfield is ranked 23rd). As for Avon, they will head out on the road to face off against Lebanon at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.
