After flying high against the Poplarville Hornets last Tuesday, the Greene County Wildcats came back down to earth. Greene County fell just short of Pass Christian by a score of 52-49. Greene County has struggled against Pass Christian recently, as their matchup on Friday was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.
Greene County lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Rakhiya Moody, who scored 23 points along with eight steals and six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Moody has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of ShaNya McLeod, who scored 13 points along with six steals.
Greene County's loss dropped their record down to 12-12. As for Pass Christian, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-11.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Greene County will play host again and welcome Bay, where tip off is scheduled for 6:00 a.m. on Friday. Bay is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last seven games. As for Pass Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Poplarville at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
