The biggest upset of the week belonged to Hammonton, who took down 26th ranked Hammonton, 31-28. Ken Doughty threw for 171 yards and one touchdown and ran for 62 yards in the win.
St. Joseph's Cody Sampson recorded the longest rushing play in Cape-Atlantic - American this season in his game against Millville last week. Sampson's team topped the Thunderbolts as he sprinted for 52 yards on the play and finished with 158 in all.
Randy Canela was the best wideout in the league this week as Egg Harbor Township defeated the Blue Devils. Canela tallied three receptions for 55 yards. Calvin Rice helped Egg Harbor Township's passing attack out by catching one ball for 45 yards.
St. Joseph's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Wildcats feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Anthony Giagunto has thrown for 242 yards and three touchdowns this season, while Sampson has two catches for 61 yards. Sampson leads the league in rushing with 303 yards.
A big matchup in Cape-Atlantic - American this week will be when the Eagles take on St. Joseph. Egg Harbor Township is currently in fourth, while Paul Sacco's team is in first.
There should be lots of points scored when Tony Derosa's team and the Wildcats face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Eagles comes in having scored 73 this season, while St. Joseph has scored 79. Egg Harbor Township scored 31 points last week as it beat Hammonton.
Absegami was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from ninth to fifth in the league. Earlier in the week, the Braves triumphed over Mainland Regional 14-7.
