Softball Recap: Palmer Sets Scoring Season-High Against Homer

The home team had won the previous six meetings between Palmer and Homer, and Palmer kept the tradition alive. The Moose put the hurt on the Mariners with a sharp 25-2 win on Thursday. The Moose's hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Palmer let Aurelia Zimin and Lizzy McQuillin run wild. Zimin went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, four runs, and one triple, while McQuillin went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, five RBI, and three runs. Those two stolen bases gave McQuillin a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jane Meals, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs, two RBI, and one double.

Palmer always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .882. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Palmer's victory bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Homer, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.
