Winning is just a little bit easier when you outrebound your opponent 15 to 8 on the offensive boards, a fact the Rosewood Eagles proved on Wednesday. They walked away with a 58-50 victory over Southside.
Rosewood can attribute much of their success to Julius Coltrane, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 15 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of David Lamm, who scored 13 points along with 5 assists and 5 rebounds.
Several Seahawks players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Joshua Armstrong, who scored 12 points along with 5 rebounds. The contest was Armstrong's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Tequon "Tater" Moore was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with 4 steals.
The victory got Rosewood back to even at 1-1. As for Southside, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.
Rosewood is on the road again on Tuesday and play against East Duplin at 7:00 p.m. on December 5th. As for Southside, they will play host again and welcome Martin County, where tip off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
