After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Malad, Declo was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They walked away with a 7-4 win over the Soda Springs Cardinals. That three run margin sets a new team best for the Hornets this season.
Kyle Bott made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over 5.1 innings pitched. Bott was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Cade Miller was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Trevin Averett also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Declo's record now sits at 3-16. As for Soda Springs, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-12-1 record this season.
