The Hemingway Tigers lost against the Georgetown Bulldogs back in November, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Hemingway received a tough blow as they fell 57-41 to Georgetown. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Hemingway in their matchups with Georgetown: they've now lost four in a row.
Georgetown's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ty Stanley , who scored 15 points along with nine rebounds and three steals. That's the first time this season that Stanley grabbed two or more steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jari Ford, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 14 rebounds.
Hemingway bumped their record down to 1-9 with that loss, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Georgetown, their win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hemingway will square off against Calhoun County at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Calhoun County has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 208 points over their last three games. Georgetown won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Andrews at 7:00 p.m. on December 19th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in South Carolina (Andrews is ranked 172nd, while Georgetown is ranked 189th).
