5A Region II District 13 recap Sept. 26, 2012
The biggest upset of the week belonged to Klein Forest, who took down 294th ranked Klein Forest, 31-10.
Kingwood moved up to 254 from 491 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 5A Region II District 13. A 31-10 win over the Eagles helped the Mustangs improve their standing.
Westfield's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. William Dedon threw for 149 and one touchdown and Dexter Garrett had 67 yards receiving. On the ground Emmitt Raleigh chipped in 133 yards. Tevin Lewis helped Westfield's passing attack out by catching one ball for 38 yards.
Westfield's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Mustangs feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Dedon has thrown for 677 yards and eight touchdowns this season, while Lewis has 11 catches for 184 yards. Raleigh leads the league in rushing with 543 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Mustangs take on Atascocita. At the moment, Westfield is in first, while the Eagles are in third.
Kingwood was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from ninth to fifth in 5A Region II District 13. Barry Campbell's team vanquished Klein Forest 31-10 earlier in the week.
