The Brush Beetdiggers on the road again on Wednesday and play against the Timnath Cubs at 7:15 p.m. on January 24th. Hopefully Brush focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Wednesday.
Brush scored the most points they've had all season to find success. They enjoyed a cozy 73-58 victory over Frontier Academy. That 15 points margin sets a new team best for Brush this season.
Brush's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Edgar Ortiz, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds. Ortiz continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Hunter Proctor, who scored 14 points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Timnath came up short against Loveland Classical on Saturday and fell 46-38. While losing is never fun, Timnath can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 249th, while Loveland Classical is ranked 80th).
Brush's win ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-10. As for Timnath, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-8.
Brush lost to Timnath on the road by a decisive 43-27 margin in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. Can Brush avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
