The Morrill Lions entered their tilt with the Hemingford Bobcats with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Morrill walked away with a 58-46 victory over the Bobcats on Thursday. For Morrill, this counts as revenge for the 76-69 loss the Bobcats walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2023.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Morrill to victory, but perhaps none more so than Pittman Ashwin, who scored 14 points along with six blocks and three steals. Ashwin hasn't dropped below two steals for eight straight games. Another player making a difference was Ryder Green, who scored 19 points along with six rebounds.
Morrill has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season. As for Hemingford, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-11.
Morrill won't have much time to rest: their next game is against the Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. on February 2nd. Bridgeport will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak. Hemingford's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Tigers at 12:30 p.m. on February 3rd. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Nebraska (Bayard is ranked 249th, while the Bobcats are ranked 224th).
