The Franklin-Simpson Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 21 points or more this season. They really took it to Todd County Central for the full four quarters, racking up a 67-40 victory on the road. Franklin-Simpson's victory was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.
It was another big night for LaReesha Cawthorn, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. The contest was her 13th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lyniah Brown, who scored 12 points along with four steals.
Todd County Central's loss on Friday came despite strong showings from Alexis Taylor and Jordyn Shemwell. Taylor scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and four steals, while Shemwell scored 20 points along with three steals. Taylor scored a full 32.5% of Todd County Central's points, the 11th time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Franklin-Simpson pushed their record up to 13-0 with that victory, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Todd County Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-4.
Franklin-Simpson is on the road again on Tuesday and play against Bowling Green at 6:00 p.m. on January 9th. As for Todd County Central, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Cumberland County at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
