Basketball Recap: Make It Two in a Row for Pungo Christian Academy

Albemarle School came into Tuesday's contest looking for another win against Pungo Christian Academy, but Allison Sawyer wouldn't allow it. The Pungo Christian Academy Raiders managed a 51-46 win over the Albemarle School Colts on Tuesday thanks in part to Sawyer, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 22 boards. That makes it eight consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Pungo Christian Academy's points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Lily Keech, who posted eight points and four steals. Those four steals gave her a new career-high.

Albemarle School's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brittney Bass, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. Bass is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down nine or more in the last four games she's played. Addison Delosreyes was another key player, putting up 17 points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals.

The victory made it two in a row for Pungo Christian Academy and bumps their season record up to 7-13. As for Albemarle School, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-8.

Pungo Christian Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 58-51 defeat against Lawrence Academy on the 29th. Albemarle School has also already played their next game (against Northeast Academy For Aerospace and Advanced Tech), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
