Conor Huff was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Gabe Perry, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double.
South Dearborn always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .576. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Franklin County hadn't done well against Batesville recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Wildcats won by a run and slipped past the Bulldogs 1-0.
Franklin County saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Braylon Kruthaupt, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.
Franklin County is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for South Dearborn, their record is now 5-3.
Franklin County's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: South Dearborn hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .322. It's a different story for Franklin County, though, as they've only averaged .206. Will they be able to contain South Dearborn's hitters?
