The result was an unpleasant reminder to Scott Central of the 36-28 loss they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture on January 2nd.
Scott Central lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Taniyah Body, who scored eight points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mariah Bulter, who scored two points along with 14 rebounds and two steals.
Scott Central has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-11 record this season. As for Newton, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 17-5.
Scott Central will be playing at home against Leake Central at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
