Last Thursday, Saunders Trades & Tech didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Yonkers, but they still walked away with a 44-40 win. The win made it back-to-back wins for Saunders Trades & Tech.
Saunders Trades & Tech's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jordan Russ led the charge by scoring 14 points along with six rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Vazquez, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Roosevelt had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 43 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They skirted past Pelham Memorial 74-72. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
The victory got Saunders Trades & Tech back to even at 5-5. As for Roosevelt, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 6-4 record this season.
Saunders Trades & Tech was taken down by Roosevelt 87-54 when the teams last played back in December of 2023. The contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Saunders Trades & Tech was down 59-20.
