Big Foot hasn't had much luck against Turner recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Chiefs will challenge the Trojans at 5:00 p.m. Big Foot is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.6 runs per game this season.
Brodhead hit Big Foot with a eight-run seventh inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Chiefs came up short against the Cardinals, falling 10-4.
Lily Wolf and Claire Patek did some serious damage despite the final result: Wolf went 1-for-3 with one home run, while Patek went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Turner came tearing into Tuesday's match with 14 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Crimson Tide a 12-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Trojans, who have now won seven contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Maddy Hoenig was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three doubles, and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Maddyn Saunders, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run.
Turner's victory was their tenth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-2. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Big Foot, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-8.
Both Big Foot and Turner just can't seem to miss. The Chiefs have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9 hits per game. However, it's not like Turner struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.4 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Big Foot couldn't quite finish off Turner in their previous meeting two weeks ago and fell 5-3. Can the Chiefs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
