The Edgewater Eagles put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They took down Apopka 67-49. Given Edgewater's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked seventh, while Apopka is ranked 196th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Edgewater to victory, but perhaps none more so than Donovan Williams Jr., who scored 17 points along with 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Williams Jr. is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now stole two or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Zion Mitchell , who scored 15 points.
Edgewater's win bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Apopka, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.
Edgewater is on the road again on Saturday and play against Impact Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on December 9th. As for Apopka, they will take on Oviedo at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
