Volleyball Recap: Sherrard Beats Erie-Prophetstown for Their Fifth Straight Win

Sherrard had already won four in a row and they went ahead and made it five on Saturday. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Erie-Prophetstown Panthers. The Tigers were shut out 2-0 the last time they took on the Panthers, so the Tigers were just returning the favor.

While Sherrard won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-16.

Grace Bohnert paced Sherrard's offense, picking up eight kills. Bohnert got some help from Jaeci Leffel and her 12 assists. Finally, Bohnert was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high three blocks.

Sherrard's record now sits at 25-3-1. As for Erie-Prophetstown, their defeat ended a 12-match streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 29-3.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Sherrard is set to face off against their familiar foe Riverdale at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Erie-Prophetstown will challenge rival Newman Central Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
