The Loris Lions scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They claimed a resounding 80-51 win over Georgetown on the road. Loris has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matches by 24 points or more this season.
Leading Loris to victory were NIGEL MILLER and TYLER BROWN. MILLER scored 17 points, while BROWN scored 17 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points MILLER has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of JACOBIEN LEWIS, who scored eight points along with five steals.
Despite the loss, Georgetown saw an underclassman step up: Trenton Parker scored 14 points. Another player making a difference was Ean Mitchell, who scored nine points.
The win (which was Loris' fifth in a row) raised their record to 12-5. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.6 points per game. As for Georgetown, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-10.
Loris will be playing in front of their home fans against Manning at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Manning focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Tuesday. As for Georgetown, they will head out on the road to challenge Aynor at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Aynor has now lost nine straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 12.
