Even though the North Callaway Thunderbirds scored an imposing 68 points on Thursday, the Clopton Hawks still came out on top. Clopton secured a 72-68 W over North Callaway. The win made it back-to-back wins for Clopton.
North Callaway's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lakyn Hartley, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Kymorie Myers, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds.
Clopton has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. As for North Callaway, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-6.
Clopton will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Montgomery County at 5:30 p.m. on February 1st. As for North Callaway, they will face off against Winfield at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
