The biggest upset of the week belonged to Macon-East Montgomery Academy, who took down 183rd ranked Macon-East Montgomery Academy, 21-12.
Tuscaloosa Academy extended the longest winning streak in AISA AAA Region 1 this week by beating Bessemer Academy, 55-23. The victory was the seventh in a row for the Knights.
Kingwood Christian's Gavin Sumrall and Montex Haynes have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Sumrall has thrown for 456 yards this season, while Haynes, a 6-foot-1 receiver, has 11 catches for 255 yards. Lee-Scott Academy's Holt Ingalls leads the league in rushing yards with 253.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Glenwood takes on Tuscaloosa Academy. As it stands, the Gators are in fourth, while Robert Johnson's team is in first.
