The Lyons Lions will head out on the road to take on the Front Range Christian Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Lyons' game on Friday was all tied up 27-27 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell just short of Clear Creek by a score of 74-72. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Despite their loss, Lyons saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Jake Lacrosse, who went 7 for 10 from beyond the arc en route to 25 points and 4 assists, was perhaps the best of all. Caleb Christiansen was another key contributor, scoring 20 points along with seven assists and two steals.
He wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Lyons were working as a unit and finished the game with 21 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Front Range Christian, who are still winless after their ninth contest. They took a 58-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of Union Colony Prep on Monday.
Lyons dropped their record down to 2-10 with that loss, which was their sixth straight at home. As for Front Range Christian, they have fallen quite a ways from their 15-7 record last season and are now at 0-9.
Lyons came up short against Front Range Christian in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, falling 48-37. Can Lyons avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
